Best face of 2010 has got to be my daughter's surprised face. Still too young to understand cause and effect, she was totally unprepared for the wall of water her brother shot her while we were visiting the Botanical Gardens. Every time I see this photo, I crack up laughing. I hope you enjoy it too!
The life of a stay-at-home mom can become a little mundane. That is why I try to find something new to learn everyday. Whether it is a new recipe, a fun craft to do with the kids, or a new skill, there is always something I can learn. I know the days of watching Elmo will end soon, and I will miss them dearly. Hopefully, though, I will have spent my time during these years learning new skills that I can use to make life more interesting now and later.

I Heart Faces Week 11 Challenge: Bundled Up
My husband had never been west of the Mississippi until we were married. So, needless to say, he had never seen real snow. Sure they get snow flurries in North Florida every ten or so years, but that doesn't count. In fact, much of the snow seen in the South can't compare to a Colorado snow. That was why it was so much fun to take him in the dead of winter. However, we were completely unprepared, seeing as living in South Florida doesn't require snow gear. As soon as we got into town, we hit the local Walmart and gathered what we could to help keep us warm. We ended up with athletic pants to wear over our jeans, so they would stay dry. I purchased a pair of pink snow boots for $3; he wore his work boots from home (which were supposed to be water proof, but I don't think he took in mind that snow can get in the boots and melt). I could only find thin cotton gloves and he found some wool mittens which made for dexterity challenges. To top it off, we purchase a warm ski cap for him and an ear headband cover-thingy for me. So, we were finally all bundled up and could play like kids in the snow... if only we could walk through it!
